Lesbian Startalk for May- Taurus

May is the month of Taurus, earthy, practical, sensual, materialistic and security-oriented. Taurus is persistent and can be stubborn, like all the fixed signs. It’s the sign of few words, unless the chart contains some of the personal planets in Gemini or Sagittarius.

The first and second weeks are relatively quiet, astrologically. Thursday, the 3rd is a great evening to plan a surprise or spontaneous dinner or outing for a special person (or yourself), as the Moon in adventurous Sagittarius trines inventive Uranus (29 degrees).

The Moon is in responsible Capricorn for Friday and Saturday of the Cinco de Mayo weekend. On Sunday the Moon moves into freedom-loving Aquarius for the next couple of days. The Sun in Taurus makes an opportunity sextile to creative Neptune in Pisces (16 degrees) and could spark a desire for spiritual nourishment or some cultural or artistic activity. Later Mercury in assertive Aries squares Pluto in critical Capricorn and could initiate control issues.

Monday, the 7th Venus in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces (16 degrees), which may cause confusion and possible blinders in our vision of others or ourselves.

On Tuesday, the 8th the Sun opposes Jupiter in Scorpio (18 degrees). We may vacillate between needs for peace and passion, simplicity and complexity, self-sufficiency and interdependence, as well as likely excesses.

On Friday, the 11th, the Sun makes an earthy trine to Pluto in Capricorn (21 degrees), bringing cooperation and calming any disturbances the day brings.

Communication may a bit tricky Saturday, the 12th, as Mercury in feisty Aries squares impatient Mars in ‘know it all’ Capricorn. If you’re the assertive one, try to be alert to your impact on others. And try not to take things too personally if you’re the sensitive one.

Things may not go exactly as planned on the morning of Mother’s Day, as the Moon in Aries squares aggressive Mars in Capricorn (28 degrees) and crosses unpredictable Uranus (29 degrees). The Moon and Mercury move into and meet in Taurus by noon, which hopefully can calm the waters.

This next week begins a pivotal time. May 15th, following the New Moon in Taurus, Uranus enters Taurus for the next seven years and Mars enters Aquarius setting up a dynamic square aspect between these two highly energized planets the next day. “Forecasts for Uranus in Taurus from May 2018 to April 2026 include financial upheaval, radical environmental changes, and a revolution in how we handle the earth’s resources.

Uranus last traveled through Taurus from June 1934 to May 1942. In 1935 President Franklin D Roosevelt signed the Banking Act and the Social Security Act, both of which significantly altered how US citizens handled their savings. That same year, Parker Brothers debuted the board game Monopoly, which promotes Taurean goals of financial independence and property acquisition. The coining of the term ‘greenhouse effect’ happened in 1937 and the awarding of the first Pulitzer Prize for environmental reporting in 1940.” (Mountain Astrologer)

This Taurus New Moon heralds a revolution in our relationship with the material world. The first of the earth signs, Taurus represents our basic survival needs: food, shelter, clothing and money. While Aries is the fire that sparks new life, Taurus sustains life as the builder, farmer, and Earth steward. Ruled by Venus, Taurus also favors beauty, pleasure, and sensuality.

With the rise of patriarchy and fall of the Goddess, the divine was taken out of matter. Animals, plants, and all of nature became resources for humans use and abuse. Sexuality and pleasure became sinful instead of sacred. This paradigm is shifting as environmental destruction is awakening humanity to the necessity of radical change. We can expect the emerging Earth consciousness and rising feminine to accelerate with Uranus in Taurus.

This New Moon invites us to plant a seed of intention for our highest vision of Uranus in Taurus, both for ourselves and for humanity.

On Saturday, the 19th Venus moves into Cancer till June 13th, bringing out the nurturing and protective qualities. A sextile to Uranus in Taurus brings opportunities to use these qualities. And be flexible. This afternoon the Moon moves into the fixed fire sign Leo, which squares unpredictable Uranus (0 degrees) and opposes Mars in independent and fixed Aquarius (1 degree). There’s stubbornness in the air. And on Sunday, the 20th, the Sun begins Gemini time.

Mercury, planet of communication is the most active planet on Tuesday, the 22nd. A sextile to Neptune in Pisces (16 degrees) activates our imagination, our intuition, and softens the edges on sharp tongues. Also, an opposition to Jupiter in Scorpio (16 degrees) may pit beliefs against data. And there’s a tendency to talk something to death or say too much.

In contrast to Uranus’ promise of disruption a Jupiter-Neptune trine from Scorpio to Pisces (16 degrees) on a planetary-packed Friday, the 25thoffers a spiritual uplift. This is the second of three, with the others occurring on December 2, 2017 (12 degrees) and August 19, 2018 (15 degrees) helping us to keep a positive perspective when dealing with difficult times and enabling us to release old emotional baggage that has been weighing us down.

Jupiter’s trine to Neptune in Pisces can open doorways to higher consciousness. Our dreams and intuition have important messages for us.

Mercury in Taurus makes an earthy trine to Pluto in Capricorn (16 degrees) and lends support to the Jupiter-Neptune aspect. We don’t shy away from discussing difficult subjects and are more forthright about our own opinions.

Also, Venus in Cancer opposes Saturn in Capricorn (8 degrees), making it clear where the difficulties lie in a relationship and whether each partner can be vulnerable and strong in turn.

The Full Moon in Sagittarius (8 degrees), when the Sun and Moon are exactly opposite, is on Tuesday, the 29th. The Sagittarius Full Moon is a call to adventure and initiation into greater truth and freedom. Opposing the Sun in Gemini, the light of the mind, the fiery Sagittarius Moon illuminates our soul’s wisdom, the knowing we carry in our hearts and in our bodies. This lunation can inspire a higher perspective on our life’s path, allowing for new possibilities as we create our future. Sagittarian truth has the potential to heal, but can also harm when fueled by righteousness, anger, judgment, or blame.

This is a power packed month with opportunities for growth and enlightenment. Pay attention to your inner voice. Stop complaining, think thoughts that bring relief, and then take inspired action.

Be kind to one another and have a good month. See you in June.
